St. Augustine’s Al Emerick to Emcee Documentary Film Event
November 3, 2014 , Jacksonville, FL. – A new documentary film celebrating St. Augustine’s 450th anniversary is set to be unveiled November 8 during a VIP and premier event and long-time St. Augustine resident Al Emerick has been tapped to serve as emcee for the festivities. Emerick, who grew up in St. Augustine, is founder of Al Emerick Productions, LLC and a professional brand strategist, emcee and spokesman. According to Ed Poppell from the University of Florida Development Corporation and Economic Development, Emerick was selected due to his experience engaging audiences in an entertaining and professional manner while incorporating organizational branding into his presentation. “Al was presented to us and we were impressed with his reputation as an entertaining emcee who knows how to connect with audiences. His ties to St. Augustine were also a definite plus as we know he loves St. Augustine.”
The project is under the direction of University of Florida Historic St. Augustine, Inc. which was organized to ensure the long-term preservation and interpretation of state-owned properties in St. Augustine. “St. Augustine is my hometown and where I have some of my life’s fondest memories,” says Emerick. “To be a part of such a memorable and important event is an extreme honor.” Emerick was also recently “back home” starring is a television PSA for the North Florida TPO’s campaign, “Yield to Life, Slow Your Roll” which is focused on bike and pedestrian safety in the nation’s oldest city.
